The overall design of the building is based on Indo-Islamic style that can be seen in its grand marble courtyard, where you can find the main shrine. It was built in 1431 by Sayyed Peer Haji Ali Shah Bukhari, the place is an important spiritual hub for locals and tourists to ask a blessing, make wishes and listen to the tune of Qawalis.

The cave is located on an island close to the Arabian Sea with 60,000 square feet of land area. It was awarded by the UNESCO as a World Heritage Site because of its amazing rock formation and the house of Lord Shiva during ancient times. This is one of the most famous places in Mumbai to explore that can offer other exciting activities like trekking to reach the top of Cannon Hill.

This is a world-renowned landmark in India and it must not leave your list of what to do in Mumbai. The architecture of the building is a mixture of Renaissance and Islamic styles. The hotel underwent a catastrophic event in 2008 when it was attacked by a terrorist group and burnt the façade of the building. It was rebuild in 2010 and reopen during Independence Day.
